Morning sitting at 07.15.
Breakfast at 08.00-ish.

The times of meals have been rather more –ish than on any other GC course here that I recall.

28feb3a.jpg

T’ai Chi at 09.45.

12.40    House of Guitars at 10.30. An Inner Circle of 16 guitars, 23 in the Outer Circle.

One instruction was given: when ready, please begin. All then went as-if-by-itself for 45 minutes; much of it, to these ears, successful (whatever we might understand by the word).

Alexander lie-down with Mariela at 11.30.

16.26    The tv van is arrived for tomorrow’s service…

18.23    Lunch at 13.00. Varied comments were presented on last night’s performance, including my own. The unfolding process of the performance, of the whole event, is key. We respond, in the moment. Within that, sometimes the wrong thing is the right thing.

Two personal meetings.

Tea at 16.30.

And a first: three showings, on this computer, of a viddy taken during our performance last night, in the ballroom between 16.30 & 17.05.

18.55    Following the film show, meetings with two groups, at 17.15 & 17.45 respectively, to address division of attention exercises with guitars.

A personal meeting at 18.30, clashing with T’ai Chi at 18.30.

Dinner at 19.00.

21.20    A fab dinner with stupendous dessert.

Three post-dinner personal meetings.

The final meeting is at 21.30.

22.34    Various comments presented from around the Circle, and various Crafties AAD being spoken for.

My comments…

On the first Guitar Craft Course, in West Virginia almost 24 years ago, I was asked by Mark V.: does Guitar Craft have a future? At that time, there were three GC courses in the calendar, extended from the initial one, and no-one knew what the future held for GC. Lying in the bath, giving thought to Mark’s question, a picture presented itself: of 100 Crafties in a large Guitar Circle, comprised of smaller Circles each with a Circle leader.

In a sense that vision, of what we might now call The Orchestra Of Crafty Guitarists, determined Guitar Craft’s future for the following almost 24 years.

The aim of the Essential Guitar Craft is to activate / awaken conscience.

Guitar Craft is three things: a way of developing a relationship with the guitar, with music, and with ourselves.
The Guitar Circle is a way of working with other people.

At 22.33 & 45 seconds this Guitar Craft course, The Orchestra Of Crafty Guitarists Special Performance Course, was declared completed.

Shortly afterwards, various members of the course were assembled by Curt to wave to Frank & Ingrid in Seattle…
